Haven Bay Drop Off/Pick Up Procedures

Haven Bay Drop Off/Pick Up Procedures

‍Haven Bay Elementary

Dear Parents,

Drop off/Pick up Procedures

After a month at Haven Bay, we have had the opportunity to identify procedures that will help all students come and leave school safely while keeping the flow of traffic for cars and buses moving more efficiently.  Please review the following updated procedures:

  • The west parking lot is for staff parking only.  This is not a drop off/pick up location for students.  Buses need to be able to come and go, and we don’t want any cars entering or exiting that parking lot during drop off/pick times.  If you have currently been dropping/picking up students, starting tomorrow, this will not be an option.  Please make arrangements with your child to use the front pick up area.

  • Dropping off/picking up on the side of the road is fine as long as you are not impeding the flow of traffic.

  • Please stay with your vehicle in the drop off/pick up area.  If you need to leave your vehicle use the front parking lot.

  • If you are using the front parking lot, please come out and get your child.  We don’t want students in the parking lot without being accompanied by an adult.

  • We have extended the pick up area to the sign near the marquee (we ask you to not block the crosswalk as you pull forward).  Please pull all the way forward as you wait so we can get as many cars as possible in the drop off/pick up area.

  • The physically disabled drop off/pick up only signs in the front are not blue zones.  They are to let parents who are dropping off/picking up students with physical needs know where the ramps are.  You may still drop off/pick up in these areas.

  • We have been teaching the procedures to all students regarding bikes/scooters.  The procedure is to walk all bikes/scooters and any motorized transportation while on school property and school sidewalks.  Please help us by walking yours as well during our drop off/pick times.

We appreciate your support in helping us to keep all students safe as we move nearly 500 students in a 10 minute period.  We really enjoy having your child at our school and working with this amazing community.  Please reach out if we can assist with anything.

Sincerely,

‍Justin Skeen
