6th Grade Kickball stars
The energy on the Haven Bay Elementary fields was absolutely electric this past Monday, May 18, as the school community gathered for one of the most highly anticipated traditions of the year: the annual Sixth Grade versus Staff Kickball Game. Families, students, and neighbors lined the sidelines, transforming the school grounds into a vibrant arena of cheers, laughter, and spectacular school spirit. It was a beautiful reminder of the incredible community bond that makes Haven Bay such a special place for our families and students to thrive.

The Herons took to the field with fierce determination and boundless enthusiasm. Our sixth graders brought their absolute A-game, launching massive kicks into the outfield and executing brilliant base-running strategies that kept the faculty on their toes. They were joined by our SRO, Deputy Hunt, as they fought for victory. Not to be outdone, the Haven Bay teachers and staff traded their lesson plans for athletic sneakers, showing off some surprisingly impressive agility and teamwork of their own. It was a thrilling, back-and-forth battle that had the crowd on the edge of their seats from the very first pitch.

Ultimately, the staff managed to narrow out a victory, but the final score hardly tells the whole story of the day. The real triumph was the camaraderie and joy shared by everyone involved. The sixth graders played with the heart, grit, and sportsmanship of true Herons, proving that they are ready to soar to new heights as they prepare for middle school. It was an unforgettable afternoon that perfectly highlighted the joyful, supportive, and active community culture we cherish here at Haven Bay Elementary.
